Patriots-Dolphin Game Exposes New England’s Weaknesses

Final Score: New England: 49, Miami: 28.

Well, congrats to the New England Pats. Brady executed a near flawless game against a torn, deflated, and winless Miami secondary. Despite a few incomplete passes and nearly being sacked four times (only one of which was official), Brady got a perfect passer rating, mostly due to a whopping six touchdowns.

In fact, no one expected much less from New England and they performed as well as expected, if not better against the worst team in the NFL (Miami) - at least as far as the standings go.

Dolphins Shock the World - Uphold 1972 Undefeated Squad

Miami DolphinsI never once doubted my faithful Dolphins to, at the least, uphold the legacy of the legendary undefeated 1972 Dolphins. But, today they did it not only with fervor, they did it with an amazing display of showmanship and grace, leaving the fans at Soldier Field open-mouthed, stunned and wondering if they were in a dream.

Television Viewing Habits

Steve Pavlina once again has posted yet another good article that I feel compelled to comment on. He currently is in the middle of a 30-day TV fast and while that is good, I’m hoping he, and many others, continue to avoid television much more. As a father of six children, people often question what we “do” since we don’t have a television. I find the question amusing - but first let me give a little background.

Where’s the Old Blog?

I’ve had a few emails about why I started a new blog, what happened to the old blog, etc. Yes, in a moment of shining clarity I deleted the old blog - forever. I can’t seem to recall the exact clarity anymore that led me to do that, however. I think it had something to do with the overall focus that the blog had strayed toward. You can still see the excerpts of the postings by using Google’s Blog Search and typing “MelbourneLawrence” which was the name of the old blog. I think you’ll see what I mean.

About

As my friend Scott Branch taught me, let’s go with the 59 second rundown: Married, six children, love chess, the Miami Dolphins, music, reading, and trying to stay away from Taco Bell. I’m a homeschooling dad, love the Lord, but won’t cram religion down your throat - but I won’t let you cram your religion down mine either — even if its hip and trendy. On that note, I like old school theology (read: reformed), and of course, computers, blogging, web design. Can’t stay away from trying the GTD system (you know if you know). Also, my #1 attribute — efficiency, organization, business management, and beating slackers with lead pipes (good thing for them lead is so hard to find. Thank the EPA, slackers!). And of course, raising children. Which leaves me really no time for all the stuff I said before. Except work. But I’m not coming in on Saturday, Lumbergh. Or Sunday. Especially Sunday. I mean it this time.
